December 13th, 2008 - Cobalt

In our December session, the kids got to learn about the basics of animal shelter life, and what makes a responsible pet owner. They were involved in interactive discussion over topics such as how pets end up in shelters, the different kinds of shelters out there, and how to appropriately select the right pet for their lifestyle. We also had a story-book session and read Before You Were Mine by Maribeth Boelts. They also got to meet shelter-patron Cobalt, a lovable male Australian Cattle Dog, and discussed his type of breed and what they do best in. After meeting Cobalt, the kids learned how to operate Microsoft Word in order to write recommendations for him. Cobalt was adopted almost a week after his debut!

Recommendation #1
Today I meet Cobalt the dog. He was the most friendliest dog I ever met. He has black and white fur. He loves to be petted and loved. He would make a great pet for a loving family. I recommend that Cobalt be adopted by a family that has a house with a fence. Cobalt is an AUSTRALIAN CATTLE DOG.

Recommendation #2
Today I was happy to meet a dog named Cobalt. Cobalt has short hair, and has a mix of black and white hair. He is  very happy, and loves to be petted. He rolls over on his back so we can pet his stomach. I think that Cobalt would like to live inside of a house, and go for two walks in the morning and three walks after work. He might like to play in the back yard some, though, in stead of having so many walks. I recommend that Cobalt be adopted by an active family who likes to be outside. Cobalt is an AUSTRALIAN CATTLE DOG.

Recommendation #3
Cobalt is a dog that lives at a shelter. He is gray, black, brown, and white. He is very kid friendly, and soft. I think he should be adopted because he is loyal. Cobalt is nice to other people. You should probably have a fence to adopt Cobalt. His fur is nice. Cobalt is an Australian Cattle Dog. Don't let Cobalt run away.

Recommendation #4
Today I met the most loving 1 year old Australian Cattle Dog, his name is Cobalt. He is a very kind, friendly, loyal guard dog. Cobalt is black, white, and a little gray. He has light brown eyes. He will roll all on the ground for your love! He will lick you all over and give you puppy kisses!! I would recommend a loving, active family who would take care of him!!!

Recommendation #5
Today there was a dog I met. His name is Cobalt. He is one of the most friendliest dogs I have ever met. He loves to play with children and won't jump on them. He has a mixed black, white, and brown fur coat. He loves to be petted on his belly too. I recommend that cobalt should be adopted by a loving family that likes to be outside. Cobalt is an AUSTRALIAN CATTLE DOG.
