This week in our Humane Education group at Perez, our students had the opportunity to spend some time with Bandit, a 3 year old Pomeranian/Dachshund mix who is wonderful with kids! The group participated in a spaying/neutering exercise, where they learned just how quickly dog populations can expand. The students were introduced to Microsoft PowerPoint and began creating their own PowerPoint presentation with the topic being the most important thing they have learned during our Software Skills through Humane Education program. Some of the topics the students selected include: the importance of being ready to own a dog, how rescuing a dog is better than 'buying' a dog, and the importance of spaying/neutering.
